PAYROLL MANAGER

My client is looking for a Payroll manager for an exciting permanent opportunity. The Payroll team within this organisation is responsible for the payment of circa 5,000 people a year and also provides a payroll service to a third party employer.

The remit of the team is to provide a professional, accurate and timely payroll service that complies with Financial Regulations and all statutory requirements. The team is also responsible for the payroll related aspects of pension administration, including the operation of salary sacrifice and auto-enrolment.

Reporting to the Head of Payroll and Process Improvement, the Payroll Manager is responsible for the operation and delivery of an effective, accurate, timely and compliant payroll service.

Essential criteria include a proven track record of managing an effective payroll office in a large, complex organisation or equivalent; expert knowledge of payroll processes and taxation requirements; sound knowledge of occupational benefit schemes and their application; experience of managing, motivating and developing staff; and experience of working proficiently with a proprietary payroll system, including implementation of system changes.
