Our client have an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Data Scientist. You’ll be responsible for building and constantly improving algorithms to construct a predictive model that will allow our to develop real commercial solutions to the challenges facing the business. Using historical data across the business, factoring the challenges they face, you will be responsible for helping predict customer behavior. You’ll be responsible for presenting the model and recommending commercial and operational solutions to senior management across the business. Using your analysis to build the models into a tool used by business.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Understanding complex business challenges, designing scientific solutions, manipulating large data sets, using machine learning and predictive modelling techniques and synthesizing insights
  • Building scalable solutions that create great business impact
  • Working within an ambiguous environment, gathering and improving data sources to improve the accuracy of the model over time
  • Understanding the need to balance predictive power, interpretability, and ease of implementation
  • Encouraging the development of a data driven decision making.


  • Experience in building predictive models in either an academic or commercial environment
  • In depth understanding of common machine learning techniques
  • Time-series Modelling/Forecasting and analysis
  • Expertise in one or more modelling/machine learning platforms and their related data processing, machine learning, and visualisation libraries
  • Good programming experience and knowledge of one or more scientific computing languages (e.g. R, Python, C++, Java etc.)
  • Familiarity databases and database tools (e.g. SQL Server, Neo4J, MongoDB etc.)
  • Strong academic background (PhD or Master’s Degree) in one or more computational areas (Mathematical Analysis, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics)
  • Ideally you will demonstrate a combination of excellent academic research with some commercial experience

Minimum required language knowledge (speaking+writing):

  • English and French OR Dutch
