ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

My client is a recently established company specialising in providing drylining and facades services to the construction industry, they are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the team.

As Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for;

  • Generating sales invoices and credit notes
  • Credit control
  • Generating purchase orders
  • Matching, coding and processing of suppliers and sub-contractor’s invoices
  • Reconciliation of supplier’s accounts
  • Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors
  • CIS Monthly returns
  • Bank reconciliation
  • VAT Returns
  • Maintenance of Petty Cash records
  • Monthly payroll

Responsibilities:

The right person will be responsible for all aspects of accounting up to Trial balance and have a strong knowledge of double entry book-keeping and excellent knowledge of Sage Construction. Would suit either a part qualified Accountant or alternatively someone who is qualified by experience in the same or similar role.

Key Skills:

  • Part-qualified Accountancy qualifications (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) OR demonstrable experience in same / similar roles
  • Proven Bookkeeping experience
  • A good knowledge of SAGE 50 Accounts and Sage Construction
  • A good knowledge of Sage Payroll and VAT returns
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literacy with a methodical approach
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

8am to 5pm daily with an unpaid lunch break.
