Job Description:

This reputable small firm of accountants is growing rapidly and has a friendly professional working environment with offices located within easy reach of local transport links.

We require a new member of staff (part qualified to AAT or qualified by relevant experience), who has proven accountancy practice experience of:

  • Working within an Accountancy Practice (Essential) – this can be previous experience
  • Preparation of sole trader accounts;
  • Preparation of tax computations and returns;
  • Understanding of taxation & HMRC requirements
  • All round bookkeeping & reconciliations;
  • Monthly & Quarterly duties including VAT returns; Payroll RTI Submissions
  • Assistance with ad-hoc work as required of a small business;
  • Good confident communication skills to liaise with clients and third parties queries;
  • Experience in working with VT+ BTC Software (training will be given on the in house system) and Sage, Xero a distinct advantage.

Personal Qualities:

  • Strong all round accounting skills;
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and Word;
  • Strong concentration; organisation & prioritisation skills, with attention to detail;
  • Be numerate and have a passionate for working with numbers;
  • Confident Communicator who has a professional manner with clients
  • Work both unsupervised as well as part of a small team.
  • Demonstrate a diplomatic & assertive attitude driving professionalism into everything you do
  • You should be well presented and punctual
  • A ‘can do’ attitude with the desire to help progress the business
  • Willing to work additional hours during peak periods.
  • Will suit local candidates
